oh, herro.

home for a month!

being sick is ritualistic. go on tour, come home with bronchitis. i love my life!

the where myth fades to legends tour was amazing. quality people for 2 straight months. the last day was highlighted with many many pranks, trouble with security/mcallen police, and getting hit in the face with a gatorade bottle from 30 feet away. it ruled.

mexico: hello to halo3 in living colour. since the police chief or whatever got murdered, the policia is no more for the time being replaced by military dudes with machine rifles and tanks. so no bueno! nevertheless, we got denied 3 times before we decided to cancel mexico. august we will be returning for some spanish lovin, "putos" (the one word i learned)

regardless, i'm definitely happy to be on a break before another tour.

love
me.

p.s. while i was away, i had to endure a dallas stars fan the entire time my ducks lost the series. it was heartbreaking. since its the pens vs. wings, i am going to root for the pens because i cannot handle the wings winning anything in life.

speaking of bees....

let's talk about how gross it is to have a bee colony in the awning of our house. the bee-buster (their icon cleverly was a spoof of ghostbusters, but instead of a ghost, it was a bee placed within the iconic symbol) came to our house, cut a hole in our roof, sucked up their colony and killed approximately 20,000 bees. we have a graveyard of bees leading to our entryway. a rather unappetizing sight. honeycomb is not as cute as it is made out to be in movies. the expert bee killer pointed out how each comb was actually a home to a baby bee in the form of a larva. i was a few dry heaves from throwing up my lunch at this point.

btw, i have no clue what would drive a person to be a bee killer. nonetheless, our personal expert came to our house in cholo shorts and a long sleeve shirt. put on a pair of gloves and some bee protection for his head. he bravely fought those bees only to be stung while leaving our home. i would have officially freaked like a little baby since i hate bees, and am allergic to their sting. regardless, he merely joked saying, now i have matching dumbo ears. idiot.

having a bee problem is not the bees-knees.
michelle.

p.s. i leave for tour next thursday and will spend very little time at home in the next six months. that sort of saddens me.

broken promises...never again.

reminder: VOTE TOMORROW ladies and gentlemen! i can't remember being this excited to vote ever. I cannot wait! edit: yesterday i got in a debate with a ronpaul supporter. first and foremost, i despise ron paul and his revolution. i refuse to believe that man can bring any good to our political system, let alone impact me in any positive manner. nevertheless, the weird thing was that the woman was deaf and basically had to write out her argument to me. yes, i argued with a deaf woman about ron paul via pieces of paper. go barack!

on a completely different subject: march 21st is the first day of the spring headliner with the chariot, sky eats airplane, love hate hero, and blessed by a broken heart. the only positive is the excitement of hanging out with my guys for 6 weeks in a bus, hopefully doing coke/heroin eye-drops (a concoction that was created by shawn & i today), but more than likely playing on the xbox.

xxx.
michelle.

p.s. matt bet i couldn't do this detox thing with him...so i guess i'm detoxing for the next week. please forgive me for my unintentional crankiness brought on by hunger.

feb. 5 : cali primaries.

barack won s.c. almost 2:1. i was overjoyed to learn that he had won, especially since the southern vote was suspected of being very difficult for obama to obtain, considering he is black. not surprisingly, the younger people came out to vote and that made all the difference considering he dominated in that age range. however, the older vote definitely went to clinton. additionally, the little display that clinton/obama had in the debates probably did not help one bit. nonetheless, more individuals interviewed in the exit polls stated that they believed clinton was to blame for the debate.  Also, Obama just got the Kennedy endorsement. That is going to help a great deal in Massachusetts. Reminder: vote in your respective primaries/caucuses. Vote Barack :).

for the past week, eric and i have gotten really ill. eventually i got cabin fever and had to go out and watch rambo with the guys. so good! i loved it and it's ridiculously high amount of violence. (un)fortunately we didn't get back till 5am. i also saw ps. i love you again and sobbed like a baby. there will be blood was super awesome too. daniel day lewis is the man. paul dano was excellent, surprisingly good considering his part in little miss sunshine didn't offer any insight into the brilliance that could be extracted from him. cloverfield almost gave me motion sickness and i was not impressed. fuck, im a complete movie whore.

vote barack!
michelle.

p.s. j&i got "shushed" at the movies for making fun of nicholas cage's terrible hair job during national treasure 2. movie though was fantastic!

"200gr8" (this statement alone forced this post to be created...so i don't forget)

it is nice to have a positive outlook on life. being this happy is refreshing. i have a really good feeling about this year. it'll be substantially better come november and barack is in office :)

love
michelle.

p.s. hating is a very tiring thing. your outlook on life impacts the way you live your life. slowly, but surely i am cutting the negativity out of my life.

random note: i underline captivating quotes as i read.

yes, we can...

B. Obama lost NH. I am so bummed out, but I'm looking towards a turnaround. Obama was the underdog coming into the primaries and caucuses, and according to Obama, he is not a front runner, he is the underdog. I highly doubt that Clinton's candidacy has been changed 180 degrees. She still has to convince a lot of people in order to take the Democratic seat in the upcoming presidential election. Michigan is this coming Tuesday. (Obama isn't on the ballot, regardless I'm hoping that Clinton does not win)

94% Barack Obama
90% Chris Dodd
90% John Edwards
90% Hillary Clinton
81% Joe Biden
78% Bill Richardson
76% Mike Gravel
75% Dennis Kucinich
48% Rudy Giuliani
39% John McCain
31% Tom Tancredo
30% Mitt Romney
28% Mike Huckabee
17% Fred Thompson
8% Ron Paul

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

not surprised that my candidate is a democrat, let alone b. obama. i also laughed a little to see ron paul at the bottom. that man is a waste. Has anyone ever seen Kucinich? IF you have, please check out the Simpsons episode about Ralph becoming a nominee for the presidential election. They have a moment where the Simpsonized Kucinich makes an appearance and I fell off the couch laughing. It was so good.

p.s i may go cross eyed with how much halo is being played. i love life.

"i've been in hostage negotiations that have been more civil than this"-Bill Richardson.

I finally watched the debates from yesterday. Hillary Clinton is a fucking idiot. I hated Edwards due to his persona, but he basically schooled Clinton; therefore, he gained some respect from me. Regardless, Obama, even though the debate forum is a weak point of his, brought his A game. Being juxtaposed with the likes of Clinton just point out his intelligence and eloquence. I'm embarrassed for Clinton, but not really. According to estimates, Clinton/Obama are tied in NH, but who knows after this debate. It was a debacle.

I really wouldn't mind going to Boulder either. I also wouldn't mind going to Chicago Feb 1st/2nd for HWM/Lucero. Or going to Seattle to FINALLY hang out with alison. OR going to NYC to hang out with lexy. OR being in the snow.

Signing out,
Michelle, an avid cuddler.

P.S. Where in the world is Alison Powell?

"our time for change has come."

Obama wins Iowa! I'm ecstatic. He won with 38%, and Edwards/Clinton are battling for second. I love the fact that I received a dozen texts when Obama won. Nevertheless, Huckabee, the ignorant fuck won the GOP caucus in Iowa. The other pig, Ron Paul only got 10%, with Giuliani surprisingly only getting 4! February 5th ladies and gentlemen is the California caucus, so get your voting hats ready. Vote Barack! Educate yourselves before you go vote. Barack in 08!

politics are so sexy. i would say, they're an overwhelming turn-on.

i found out jake's a republican; so i'm over it. i take political allegiances very seriously in regards to who i choose to date in my life. i could never ever date a republican.

i have yet to sleep. watching obama win iowa is far more important. playing halo3 till the early hours of the morning was well worth it as well. paddling out at san onofre while the sunrise happened was breathtaking.

floating on cloud nine!

p.s. love life. this is my year for sure. chris mccaughan, thank you for your words. your music is the soundtrack to my year. i love you for this.

virgils root beer party keg.

spent new years eve with my friends who opted out of their boat cruise to hang out with me! man, they absolutely rule and i love them tons. jake even brought over a root beer keg and by the end of the night, i couldn't even smell root beer without dry heaving. regardless, it sure is nice to have one friend who isn't a drinker. midnight hit and we all got our respective kisses to ring in oh-hate. we fell asleep watching simpsons...spider pig, spider pig! hilarious.

2008: making all the right moves. keeping it posi.

root beer kegs + spider pig!

p.s. i have a good feeling about this year.

snow bronies.

so tahoe was amazing. having six of my friends drop in on my family vacation was pretty rad as well. having fresh powder the last two days we were there was awesome. aaron getting my family/friends/myself ten passes for the week was unquestionably the best thing of 2007. he even took the week off from teaching little spoiled bitches to board just to hang out and it reminded me of when we would take trips to go snowboard together. snowmobiling to random places to board was scary. hitting trees was no bueno but holy shit, i had a blast! i spent most of my time teaching jake to board. finally, i took him up on the gondola at squaw valley and said, "figure it out" and left. i know it was a heartless thing to do, but after 2 days of constant babysitting, i needed to enjoy the snow for myself. nevertheless, he made it down safely and that made me happy. aaron asked if i would take a job teaching kids, and i basically said fuck no, since the two days i spent teaching jake was so tiring. we built jumps again in the driveway. jumped off roofs into snowbanks and onto jumps. i attacked a staircase badly and i'm pretty sure my shin will have a permanent dent. i almost passed out from laughing so hard watching family guy with everyone ridiculously drunk, including the parents. my mom now thinks family guy is the best show ever. i also fell out of the jacuzzi laughing so hard when matt went to go make snow angels (obviously, he was drunk) and have ice burn up my thigh. even though everyone thought i was boring by not drinking, i had the best time ever watching everyone get ridiculous. basically, we went retarded for the week. before this week, i was pretty sure 2007 was the worst year ever, but somehow this ending makes up for a few minor occurrences.

i now can no longer feel my body, but i ate like a fatkid so life is grand. i also spent the week getting to know jake better, re-building my relationship with aaron, having fun with my family and friends, and making sure i pushed my fear of life to the limit. i still hate life, but not so much now.

love
michelle.

p.s. by no means have i figured life out, but i am pretty sure i'm in a good spot with everything. got over things and finally opened my goddamn eyes to the obvious, which makes me a far happier person than i was weeks prior. oh-hate is going to be all gravy as long as i can make it to seattle, san francisco, new york, boulder, mammoth and tahoe a few times through the year.

awkward turtle.

somehow, my awkwardness has been taken to new extremes in 2007. i have yet to remember a year that will equal this one in moments of complete and utter social retardation. my friends bear witness to this. they will usually casually laugh after a moment of silence to let the moment sink in, but only because they are utterly polite individuals and pity my ineptitude in being in social situations. i never am embarrassed by these situations, because truthfully, i just don't care.

nevertheless, discussion of this reminded me of "awkward turtle.'' quite the charming individual, yet so very blatantly awkward that i would be forcibly choked up with anxiety when within the presence of this said individual. it may or may not have been the explicit feelings we had for one another and the inability to carry out the actions necessary to fulfill our "longings".  we swore that we would remain friends and even create a book club; however, our second tour together just presented more evidence that "awkward turtle" was rightfully named so.

also, i believe that my awkwardness has begun to present a problem for my friends. for example: this morning, i walked into matts room to say good morning. he was there with a lady friend that he has been trying to seduce for the past year. i jump onto the bed and high-five matt for a job well done, which at the time, seemed an appropriate action for the situation. the girl however, did not enjoy the fact that i did this and now has sworn off any contact with matt stating that i am a problem.

lastly, awkward situations have begun to haunt me. another example from the night prior since it is still fresh within my brain. i was sitting there minding my own business, as my two equally drunk ex-boyfriends barge into the room fighting about who was the better of the two. the only thing i could do was sit there, silently and awkwardly as this action took place steps from where i sat. eventually punches were thrown and i naturally laughed, which more than likely was the inappropriate response. nevertheless, that is what i do. i am awkward.

pork swords.

nailed to the cross...

as is customary every sunday, my intensely religious family will go on their spiritual journeys towards personal awakenings within the organized confines of what we call presbyterianism. i, on the other hand, am the black sheep of the family. i find that religion is cult-like and the philosophies thrown at their followers antiquated. this view however, is not widely held within this home. every sunday i get the usual third degree of why i choose not to attend church. my usual answers are followed by the look of intense sadness within the faces of my questioners. regardless, i still remain true to the fact that church, in reality, any form of organized religion, even if it is something you adamantly believe in, is something that i will never stand behind.

so, come every sunday, i spend my day surfing or enjoying the fruits of the earth. maybe that is my own way of spiritual cleansing. regardless i know that mother nature will not indoctrinate my beliefs into a organized set of staples that are fed to her followers.

never a blind sheep. always aware.
